TD-6342E Alkon 5-Port Solenoid with Pilot
The Alkon TD-6342E is a heavy-duty 5-port, 2-position (5/2) pneumatic solenoid air valve primarily used in commercial transportation vehicle systems. It is engineered to control double-acting cylinders, suspension dump valves, lift axles, and air tailgate systems for trucks, trailers, buses, and RVs.
TD-6342 Series valves are 4-way, normally closed 3/8” NPT port, 12 Vdc valves.
- Default (De-Energized) State
- First, air enters Port #1 (supply) and flows straight out to Port #2.
- Concurrently, air flows freely between Port #4 and Port #5.
- Energized State
- When you turn on the power, the internal mechanism shifts.
- Next, incoming air from Port #1 redirects and flows out through Port #4.
- Simultaneously, used air from Port #2 reverses direction and vents out through the exhaust Port #3.
- Depending upon the pressure differential, you may need to supply a steady 40 to 150 PSI to the 1/8″ pilot port. If skipped, the valve will fail to transfer air when electrically triggered.
